- Interface Design — Dark theme UI
The reason for Dark theme UI is because most of the target audience uses the app when they are running, and they usually run during the night time which is after work hence having a dark theme is good for the eye, and it is not that bright for the user’s eye
Whenever designing for the dark theme layout, the color and style of the button were taken note so as to show the emphasis level of the button.
2. Interface Design — Navigation drawer
Implementation of the Navigation drawer instead of having the tab bar because there is more than 5 tabs.
3. Information Design —Sizes of Typography/position of the button
By following the Fitts Law; the time to acquire a target is a function of the distance and to and size of the target. So for this redesign, I have placed the button at the centre as the main focus
NEW IDEA — Since most users only used it to run, Discover Page was one of the new idea that I’m proposing. To have a guide and tips to do well not just in fitness but also mentally. To expand the app to be more than just a running app.
4. Sensory Design — Visual Hierarchy/Balance
To have a better balance between colors and typography. Using only 2 typefaces. In this project, I have used the same typeface with just 2 different styles; Bold and Regular.
